The sixth grade classes were able to do some hands-on learning at the Maritime Aquarium last week. They were able to touch and feed stingrays, as well as take part in a 4-D theater experience, and much more.

The LMCS FFA chapter is now officially official! The chapter received its official charter during the New York State FFA conference in Buffalo. Members also rode the Maid of the Mist in Niagara Falls. Andrew competed in Jr. Tool Id, others worked at a day of service project, “Friends of the Night People,” and some were in various leadership workshops.

Learning the cycle of life: Second graders recently finished learning the life cycle of plants (sunflower) and are now learning about frogs. The classes have frog eggs and salamander (newt) eggs in the fish tank to observe.

Learning history from those who lived it. On May 9, in honor of the anniversary of Victory in Europe Day (May 8), high school students and their teacher walked to Temple Agudas Achim to speak to two survivors of the Holocaust — Eva Bocskor and Marlene Wertheim — who shared their experiences and answered questions.

The Class of 2026 is hosting a Sneaker Night for elementary grades on Friday, May 5. There will be games and activities, and snacks will be available for purchase. The schedule is as follows: Grades Prek-2: 3-4:15 p.m.; Grades 3-4: 4:30-6 p.m.; and Grades 5-6: 6:15 -7:45 p.m.

Good Evening LMCS Elementary Parents: The Livingston Manor FFA Chapter will be hosting a movie night tomorrow, Friday, April 28th afterschool from 3 PM until 4:45 PM in the auditorium. We will be showing the movie "Rock Dog Three - Battle the Beat," rated PG. $10 is necessary for entry which includes a snack and a drink. Ms. Rojas' k,1,2 classroom concluded its study on birds with an Earth Day celebration! The students used their fine motor skills and give bird beaks (pliers, tweezers and chopsticks) a try as they sorted seeds, made bird feeders and went on a nature scavenger hunt to celebrate Earth Day!
