Livingston Manor will host the Wildcats/Coach Fred Ahart Games Basketball Tournament Jan. 12 and 13. The tournament will kick off Friday, Jan. 12, with Liberty vs. Tri-Valley boys at 5 p.m. followed by Livingston Manor vs. Sullivan West at 6:30 p.m. The consolation game will be at noon Saturday, Jan. 13, followed by the championship game at 2 p.m. Donations will be accepted for the Coach Fred Ahart Foundation, named in honor of the NYSPHSAA Hall of Famer, longtime basketball coach and athletic director at Roscoe Central School. Games will be livestreamed via the livestream link on the Livingston Manor Central School District's homepage, www.lmcs.us.

Kindergarteners were busy in the week leading up to winter break. The kindergartners joined eighth-graders decorated gingerbread babies in Mrs. Poppo's class; fifth-grade students from Mr. Hemmer's class visited and interviewed kindergarten students as they helped them write letters to Santa, and Mrs. Ryan's kindergarten class demonstrated their presentation about cooperation, which is the PBIS (Positive behavioral interventions and supports) topic of the month.

The girls varsity basketball team hosted a food drive during a boys basketball game earlier this month to get spectators, fans, guardians and athletes to donate some items before the holiday season.
