Livingston Manor Central School has announced that Wesley Kinne has earned the Distinguished Scholar Award.
The award is presented to a senior who has demonstrated exceptional academic achievement, intellectual curiosity, and a commitment to excellence throughout their high school career. This honor is awarded to a student who has maintained a consistently high GPA, excelled in rigorous coursework, and exhibited leadership in academic and extracurricular pursuits.
Wesley, son of George and Emily Kinne, began attending Livingston Manor his junior year. He is ranked first in his class, with a 102.62 weighted average, but he did not meet the residency requirement to qualify for valedictorian honors under the district’s residency policy.
Wesley has volunteered his time performing at numerous school and community events and fundraisers, singing and playing guitar and piano. He also regularly volunteers at the Roscoe Presbyterian Church and its food pantry.
In school, he is a member of the National Honor Society, student government, band and choir assemblies as well as on the golf team.
After graduation he plans on attending Cornell University for Industrial and Labor Relations.
