My name is Mrs. Erlwein and I am the AIS reading teacher for grades K-4 at LMCS.

We have many options available to us in helping the students learn to become better readers. Reading teachers and classroom teachers can collaborate to have a reading teacher "push in " the classroom. The reading and classroom teacher can co-teach in the classroom.  Classroom teachers and reading teachers also plan individualized instruction for pull-out situations.  Some students benefit more from a different setting. It is also important that more than one qualified adult is able to give attention to any child in the classroom. It also helps to erase any stigma that may be connected with a child leaving the classroom. Within the classroom also, there can be centers and teachers working or helping in the centers. As you can see, there are many options available to help students be the best reader they can be.  It is really up to the teachers involved to make that decision.
