    Nutrition and fitness

     Studies show that students with healthy eating and exercise habits have higher test scores, better attendance, improved concentration, fewer discipline referrals, and greater overall achievement.

    As part of our school-wide Wellness Program, LMCS has subscribed to "Nutrition Nuggets" for the Elementary School and "Teen Food & Fitness" for the Middle/High School.  These newsletters offer practical tips for improving nutrition and physical activity, and they help our district meet the federal Local Wellness Policy mandate.

    Nutrition Nuggets For parents of pre-K and elementary students 

    You can improve your student’s eating and exercise habits—helping them to be ready to learn—while you meet the federal mandate.

    Teen Food & Fitness For parents of middle and high school students 

    Help adolescents improve their eating and fitness habits—you won’t find an easier way to educate families about nutrition and exercise.
